About The Photographer
Being raised in a small town on the edge of the Sierra Nevada foothills has given
Michael a deep love of nature and all things wild. As a boy his family had a cabin
in the mountains above their home town. There Michael spent many weekends with his
family, with lots of time to explore the natural surroundings. At the age of sixteen
Michael was introduced to the wilderness of Sequoia National Park...it was love at
first sight. Not long after Michael’s first wilderness adventure he purchased a 35mm
camera and began trying to capture in photographs, the beauty of the wilderness .
Michael and his wife Leslie have been happily married for 25 years and they have
three adult children, Joshua, Kasia, Nathan.
In recent years Michael has taken photography more seriously and completed the basic
through advanced photography courses at Porterville College.
August 2004 Michael’s photographs were featured in a show at the Porterville College Library.
He has also participated in shows with the Kaweah Artisans in Three Rivers, Sequoia National Park and various other locations.
January 2005 Michael was the featured artist at the Porterville Art Association Gallery .
Michael was invited back to Porterville College in 2007 for a solo show in the beautiful little gallery located on the campus.
August 2007 Michael was invited to submit photographs of the "California Landscape" for review to the
The 5th District Court of Appeals in Fresno California. Twenty seven of his photos have been chosen and will be part of a permanent
display in the new facility.
